Walmart: Shopping & Savings

What is Walmart: Shopping & Savings?

Walmart: Shopping & Savings is the official shopping app from Walmart for Android phones. It gives shoppers a way to search the retailer's catalog, look at product details, and keep up with deals from a single place.

The app is published by Walmart and is listed under the Shopping category on Google Play. It has more than 135,796,950 installs and a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 7,569,533 ratings.

How does the Walmart shopping app work?

Most people use the app to search for items by name or category, compare options, and check what is in stock nearby. Product pages typically show pricing, descriptions, and customer feedback.

The app is also used to track savings opportunities. Deal and promotion sections are meant to help shoppers find reduced prices without visiting every aisle or website.

What's new in version 26.40.1?

Version 26.40.1 is the current release, last updated on 2026-10-26. The developer describes it as a routine update meant to keep the app running smoothly and to help shoppers save time and money.

The release notes do not list specific feature changes, so users who need details on a particular fix should check the Google Play listing for the latest information.

Android requirements, size, and cost

Walmart: Shopping & Savings requires Android 9 or later. Check your device version in system settings before installing, since older phones may not be supported.

The app is free to download from Google Play. It contains ads, but it has no in-app purchases listed. Download size is not included in the facts available for this overview, so check the Play Store page for the current figure.

Pros and cons

On the plus side, the app is free, has a large user base, and holds a strong rating. It brings Walmart's shopping tools into one mobile place.

The main downside is advertising, which appears throughout the app. Shoppers who dislike ads may find the experience less smooth. Because the app is tied to one retailer, it is not a general price-comparison tool across stores.

Who is Walmart: Shopping & Savings best for?

The app suits people who already shop at Walmart and want to search, check deals, and manage their shopping from an Android phone. It is less useful for anyone looking for a multi-store comparison or an ad-free experience.
