AliExpress - Shopping App

What is AliExpress - Shopping App?

AliExpress - Shopping App is the Android version of the AliExpress marketplace, published by Alibaba Mobile. It lets shoppers search a large catalog of products offered by many sellers and place orders from a phone.

The app is free to download from Google Play. It is listed with more than 890 million installs and a Google Play rating of 4.3 out of 5 from over 16 million ratings.

How does the AliExpress shopping app work?

Users typically search for an item or browse categories, compare listings, and check seller details before adding products to a cart. Checkout and order tracking are handled inside the app.

Because the marketplace hosts many independent sellers, delivery times, prices, and product quality can vary from one listing to another. Reading seller information and buyer feedback helps set realistic expectations.

What's new in version 8.179.3?

The latest update, dated 2026-10-25, focuses on smaller fixes and performance. The developer reports bug fixes to parts of the user experience and performance work intended to make browsing and checkout feel smoother.

This version also adds a set of marked "Choice" items that the developer presents as offering better prices and service. Users who notice slow or glitchy screens may find the update improves them, though results depend on the device.

Android requirements and download size

AliExpress - Shopping App requires Android 5.0 or later. Devices running older versions of Android are not supported.

Google Play shows the download size for each device, and that figure can change with updates, so check the store listing before installing if storage is tight.

Is AliExpress - Shopping App free, and does it have ads or in-app purchases?

The app is free to download and use. According to its Google Play listing, it contains no ads and offers no in-app purchases. Product purchases are paid for separately as regular orders, not as in-app upgrades.

Pros and cons

On the plus side, the app is free, carries no ads or in-app purchase prompts, runs on Android 5.0 and later, and offers access to a very wide product range.

On the downside, product quality and delivery times vary by seller, and the marketplace model means shoppers must check each listing carefully. Some users may find the catalog overwhelming when searching for common items.

Who is AliExpress - Shopping App best for?

The app suits shoppers who want low-cost or hard-to-find products and are comfortable comparing sellers, reading reviews, and waiting for longer shipping times. It is less suited to people who need fast, guaranteed delivery for urgent purchases.
