What is Paramount+ on Android?

Paramount+ is a streaming entertainment app for Android phones and tablets, published by CBS Interactive, Inc. It gives users a way to watch video content from the Paramount family of channels and shows through a single app.

The app is free to download from Google Play. It is supported by advertising, and some content or features can be unlocked with in-app purchases.

How does the Paramount+ app work?

After installing the app from Google Play, you open it and sign in or create an account to start browsing. The app organizes video into categories and lets you pick a title to begin playback.

Viewing options and account types can vary, so check the app's listing and in-app details for what is currently available in your region.

What's new in Paramount+ version 17.2.0?

Version 17.2.0 is the latest release, last updated on 2026-10-13. The developer describes it as a maintenance update that includes app improvements and bug fixes.

Updating through Google Play is the simplest way to get the newest version and its fixes.

Paramount+ requirements and download size

Paramount+ requires Android 7.0 or later. Devices running older versions of Android may not be able to install or run the app.

The app has been installed more than 49,369,860 times. Exact storage use can differ by device and by how much content you download, so check the Google Play listing for the current size on your phone.

Pros and cons of Paramount+

On the plus side, the app is free to download, has a large install base, and brings streaming video into one place on your Android device.

On the downside, the app shows ads, and in-app purchases are available. Its Google Play rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 515,375 ratings, so some users have reported mixed experiences that are worth reading before you decide.

Who is Paramount+ best for?

Paramount+ suits people who want to stream video on Android without paying to download, and who are comfortable with ads and optional purchases. It is a practical choice for viewers who already follow CBS or Paramount titles.

People who want an ad-free experience, offline-focused use, or a device running Android 6.0 or older may want to look elsewhere.
