Vita Mahjong

What is Vita Mahjong?

Vita Mahjong is a board-style puzzle game for Android, developed by Vita Studio. It is built around mahjong tile matching, the traditional tile game adapted for phones and tablets.

The game is listed on Google Play in the Board category. It has been installed more than 420 million times and currently holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating from over 6.4 million ratings.

How does Vita Mahjong work?

The basic idea is to find and remove matching pairs of tiles from a layout until the board is cleared. Players typically work through a series of puzzles, with each one presenting a different arrangement of tiles.

The pace is relaxed rather than timed-pressure, which suits players who want a low-stress puzzle session. Because the game is designed around calm visuals and gentle play, it works well for short breaks as well as longer sessions.

What's new in Vita Mahjong 3.44.0?

The current version, 3.44.0, was last updated on 2026-10-26 and is tied to a limited-time collaboration with DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda franchise.

The update adds a new tile set featuring Po and his friends, drawn in the game's existing soft visual style. It also brings new calm valley-themed backgrounds, a set of limited-edition avatars and profile frames, and a batch of puzzles made for the event. The developer notes that the collaboration content is available only for a limited time.

Android requirements and download size

Vita Mahjong requires Android 7.0 or later. Check the Google Play listing for the current download size, since it can change between versions and devices.

The game is downloaded only through Google Play. Avoid third-party sites offering installation files for the app.

Is Vita Mahjong free, and does it have ads or in-app purchases?

The base game is free to download and play. It contains ads and also offers in-app purchases, so players who want to avoid ads or buy extras should review the purchase options before spending money.

Limited-time event content may be easier to notice than to keep, so players who like the collaboration items should expect that some of them will disappear when the event ends.

Pros and cons of Vita Mahjong

On the plus side, the game is free, widely installed, highly rated, and has a calm presentation with frequent themed content. It is a good match for players who enjoy tile puzzles and quiet, low-pressure play.

On the downside, ads and in-app purchases are part of the experience. Event content is time-limited, and the app requires Android 7.0 or newer, so older devices may not be supported.

Who is Vita Mahjong best for?

Vita Mahjong suits casual players who like matching puzzles, mahjong fans looking for a relaxed mobile version, and anyone who wants a gentle game for short sessions. Players who dislike ads or prefer a fully paid game without extras may want to look at other options.
