How does Nora VPN – Fast & Secure VPN work?

A VPN app sends your device's internet traffic through a remote server before it reaches the sites and services you visit. This can change the IP address that websites see and can make traffic harder to read on public networks.

Nora lets you choose a server location and connect with a single tap. Choosing a specific location is one of its main features, so users who need a particular region can pick one.

What's new in version 117.0.11?

Version 117.0.11 (build 132) focuses on connection reliability. Switching between locations is smoother, and selecting a specific location connects faster and more consistently.

The update also makes the app more dependable when starting on slow or unstable networks, and it includes general stability fixes. The app was last updated on 2026-10-24.

Is Nora VPN free, and does it have ads?

The app is free to download and use. It contains ads, so expect advertising while you use it.

There are no in-app purchases listed for this app, so the store listing does not show paid upgrades or subscriptions inside the app.

Android requirements and download size

Nora VPN – Fast & Secure VPN requires Android 7.0 or later. Check the Google Play listing for the current download size on your device, since it can vary by phone and version.

Download and install the app only through Google Play to get the official version and updates.

Pros, cons, and who it suits

On the plus side, the app is free, has a large install base, offers location selection, and recent updates target connection speed and stability. Its Android 7.0 requirement is low, so it works on many older phones.

On the downside, the ads can interrupt use, and the 4.0 rating suggests some users have had mixed experiences. A VPN also does not replace antivirus software or careful app permissions.

It suits people who want a free, simple way to connect through a VPN on Android and are fine with ads. Users who need strict privacy guarantees should read the developer's policies and independent reviews before relying on it.
